Welcome to PAGLA
Annual Meeting: Sunday, March 2, 2008.
Plymouth Whitemarsh HS, 7:30-9pm. West Cafeteria -on
the left of the building, park there.
The Philadelphia Area Girls' Lacrosse Association, PAGLA, was created in
1996 as an umbrella organization with the purpose of facilitating the
scheduling of games, sharing of information, regulating rules and
practices and supporting new programs.
PAGLA members are township recreation programs and stand alone lacrosse
clubs. PAGLA does not record scores of games, maintain standings or
crown a champion. The PAGLA philosophy makes primary the learning and
practicing of foundation skills, and attack and defense strategies in
fun, appropriately challenging, inclusive environments.
In 2005 PAGLA has 36 member programs with teams in 3 divisions: third
and fourth grade, fifth and sixth grade and seven and eighth grade. Most
programs have a mix of in-house teams and travel teams.
PAGLA, on behalf of the local chapter of US Lacrosse, the Philadelphia
Lacrosse Association (PLA), supervises the tryouts for a U13 and a U15
team which represent PLA at the National Youth Festivals.
